Lost 2 pounds through this diet. I did stop one day early but I highly doubt I was going to lose another 16 pounds.....
Being that I have been dieting for several weeks now I had doubts in getting anywhere near losing 18 pounds in 9 days. I think if I started this diet after a weekend gorge fest - then I might have come closer to losing more weight.
I had to stop this diet yesterday. If after reading yesterdays post you need more of a reason why.....I thought apples were going to be the easiest part of this diet. Turned out it was the hardest. I like apples. They are available year round so normally I eat them fairly regularly. Turns out that after eating bland rice (with VERY little salt & pepper added) and mostly plain chicken - eating the apples was a sugar rush. When I started eating my 5th or 6th apple in Day 1 - it was just too sweet! This coming from someone who considers candy (licorice, sour patch watermelons, good & plenty, etc...) a good meal replacement. Going into Day 2, I was dreading the apples. I made it through to lunchtime. Hubby was making himself a sandwich with macaroni salad on side and I took a fork and took two fork fulls (maybe 6 macaroni noodles on each one)....then I ate an apple. Two hours later I ate another two apples. Then I started cooking a few things for the week (when I am on top of things I like to "pre" prepared foods and freeze ahead).......I was cooking away (satisfied from the apples) but the aromas from a few dishes cooking had me craving saltier flavorful foods.....one thing lead to another and I made a small bowl of Brandied Chicken. I ate another apple after but knew I could not carry on eating apples through to today.
When you are craving something too much my thoughts are it's just better to have it then to blow it entirely and then kick yourself because of it.
Would I do this again..........NO!!!! The Mono diet I did in Week 28 was a little better laid out - eating one thing at each meal. Eating One things for 3 days straight and then doing it again and again....not for me. This is a fad and it is not one that could be easily followed.
