Having a MAJOR EATING HOLIDAY "Thanksgiving" pretty much smack dab in the middle of a diet is going to throw off anyoneS diet (especially if that anyone is someone that thoroughly enjoys Thanksgiving and all the opportunities to try new dishes and the plethora of desserts that show up along with the tried and true turkey...That's Me!!)
Having said that - I did gain 4 pounds from Thanksgiving and "that time of month" and this morning I am back were I ended last week - - - basically I was able to enjoy Turkey Day and not blow the diet entirely !!
The 3 Apple-A-Day Plan worked. I was satisfied not only with eating the apple before each meal (as a reminder I made it a point to eat the apple a 1/2 hour before each meal so that it registered that I wasn't so hungry when it came time to eat each breakfast, lunch and dinner. The additional snacks keep my blood sugar level (I did not have any sugar crashes during the day - always a plus).
This was a thumbs up diet. I would definitely do again. I was able to make my own food choices (trying to be reasonably healthy). I think if I had found myself a little extra hungry I could have made a choice of eating a bigger apple or just eating an extra apple (what is that like 80-90 calories) much better than having a huge slice of chocolate cake ...although chocolate cake would just be much more satisfying on so many more levels ;0) ...
