The Egg Diet has several positives, based on my opinion.
No counting calories
No hard meal planning
No major cooking
Nutritious
Inexpensive
There was only one drawback for me…
Slight Constipation
Weakness and boredom were listed on several sites as reasons people fall off this diet. I did not feel weak, nor did I feel bored. When you work a full time job, keep up a house and live a regular life – to me the Egg Diet was a no brainer. I am trying the mindset of “Live to Eat, Don’t Eat to Live”…..sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t…..
I would do this diet again & I could definitely could do this diet long term. I like breakfast foods, whether for breakfast or for dinner.
Eggs are easy – you really could do it in the simplest form. Choosing Hard Boiled or basic scrambled is an easy way out. I chose to mix it up with veggies, non-fat/low-fat cheeses and stuck to lower calorie meats at lunch time along with a salad. The protein kept me full. I made sure to drink plenty of water to avoid the constipation issue – but it still hit me. I slept better (could also be the exercise I have been trying to keep up with).
Eggs are an excellent food, and recent research has debunked some earlier concerns about the effects of eggs on cholesterol. Some research has shown that women who eat eggs for breakfast lost more weight than those that didn’t. I lost 2 pounds for the week. It brought me to my ½ way point.
I can see this diet being a steady weight loss option – and if you were to follow it long term you could add a carbohydrate to lunch along with salad dressing without adding too many additional calories to the diet.
I liked the Egg Diet!!!
