Today down an additional .4 pounds. Total Loss this past week 1 pound. I was discouraged comparing last weeks (Diet Cookie) loss of 4.4 pounds for the week to this weeks (Banana Diet) results. But "G" put it in perspective for me stating that if I lost 5 pounds in two weeks and then 10 pounds in a month then I am on the right track. Losing 10 pounds a month is a decent goal.
BANANA's. One a day does not sound too hard to do. It actually sounded like a great idea. Plus the added health benefits (oodles of Potassium) is a great selling point.
Other Benefits.............
Not having to think of what to eat for breakfast.
It has it's own case.
Easy to transport.
Using the term "banana hammock" in almost every morning sentence with "G" certainly did not grow old.
(For those of you that never heard that term before, it is a tight fitting men's swim suit...that can be made into countless jokes)
But if you are not a huge fan of the banana to begin with ~ eating one everyday while they slowly get mushier actually turned me off bananas for awhile.
The weight loss for the week not as great as I thought it would be...ONLY ONE Pound.
Was I full - YES.
Satisfying - YES....until the bananas got too mushy...then just too gross for me (the texture).
Having to count calories & read lots of labels to make sure I was within 1,100 to 1,200, it can be done, a little time consuming. I think the added sodium in some of the pre-prepared food did not help.
If I made lighter, healthier (i.e. more salads, veggies maybe even more Japanese food), there may have been more of a loss.
Bottom line - you can lose, I lost. It's a little slower than the Cookie DIet. But it was a loss and I am still headed in the right direction.
Onward and Downward (let's hope on the scale)...to The Scarsdale Diet.
