I went into this past year with hope that I would hit my goal - that goal being able to get into my wedding dress. IT.DID.NOT.HAPPEN. I did not even bother to take a picture of how badly I failed. But I can give you a visual - Chris Farley in the movie TOMMY BOY sing songing "Fat Man in a Little Coat"
I am going to change things up a bit for the start of my "NEW" New Years Resolution. Starting a diet in the New Year has never meant having to start it on the first day of the new year - Heck haven't most of tried a new diet at the start of a new week - several times during the year??? I started doing "A Different Diet Weekly" to see if I could lose weight doing it and I have - so one accomplishment has been met - doing it for two years - another accomplishment met. I know I can lose weight and it's been done slowly (more slowly than I would have liked) but I have done it.
I picked up this People magazine for the New Year as a motivator and just looking at the front cover both girls are close in weight to where I started and seeing how good they look after losing 100+ pounds - I am thinking I need to re-evaluate what my goal is.
Bottom line - lose even more weight. So I am continuing....
I will continue to keep it real - I am a real person with faults and an amazing, incredible, unstoppable SWEET TOOTH. Sometimes I just can not stick to a diet - BUT - I try my best and I have made strides while living my life (full time job, vacations, etc.)
Dieting for health is the most important thing you can do for yourself. Health is not what the scale says. Feeling good inside. Fitting into an old pair of worn out jeans and being able to not only zip them up but being able to still breath after zipping them up. Being able to look at yourself in a mirror - REALLY look at yourself - Start with looking directly into your own eyes and seeing the beauty from within and then taking the rest in (does not matter if you are a man or woman). Every single person on this earth has a beauty they can see, they just have to take the time to look for it. If you take the time to really look at yourself - you will see that the weight does not matter. What matters is that you are a good person, you try to do your best in everything you set out to do and that is what counts.
I have to take a few days to re-group and get ready for the start of a new phase in dieting. Normally I research each new diet while doing a diet. I have to be complete honest here - I have not been on my game.
Right before Christmas my sister (and only sibling) was diagnosed with lung cancer - I have spent every waking moment concentrating all my efforts on praying, medicines, natural rememdies anything and everything that can help her. Too bad crying doesn't burn calories because with all that I have done so far I should be a nice size -0- by now.
Until you research anything (does not matter the subject) as in depth as I have been researching cancer - you can not believe the eye opening information you come across.
I am not telling you this to be "Debbie Downer" - just bear with me as I get back on track. Some of my posts might be a little later at night than usual (you have already seen that already) but I am committed to to completing my journey in weight loss and I hope you hang around.
Being Healthy, Exercising and/or Losing weight is up to the individual - I am going to be here to continue. To offer some "Morning Motivation", diet tips as I experience them myself or find during my research. Being honest and continuing to cheer for you to reach your own goals as you have helped cheer me along on mine!
Thank you ALL for your funny, inspiring emails and notes, comments and calls.
